Hi guys. I've been gassing for a white Strat but the 2 GC's near me have basically the identical stock of MIM Strats, all 21 frets. I was almost going to buy one but I played one of my original songs and at the very end I bend up to a D#....just couldn't I need more frets! So I went online but only the American Strats have 22 frets? How come?

Strats traditionally have 21 frets, until 1987 and the introduction of the American Standards all strats had 21 frets. ( There may have been a MIJ model that had 22 before this but im not sure). Today there are some MIM models with 22 Frets and there are plenty of MIA models with 21 frets. You really need to look at the specs to determine what the model is fitted with.
