Are Modded Ts9's Better Then Stock?

    i HAVE A OLD TS9 AND IS SOUNDS OK AND I'M THINKING OF SENDING IT TO GET THE 808 BROWN MOD, ARE THESE MODS BETTER THAN STOCK?
    COMENTS ANYONE.

    depends on how old...
    i'd look at buying a new one that is already done if yours is an original ts9.... have 2 they sound quite different... i run it that way, one for real low gain, to add a bit of grit to clean and then one a bit more gained up for bluesy solo type stuff...

    Send it to Analog Mike and get the Silver mod. There is none better.

    If you are just getting the 2 resistors swapped save your money. Even changing the chip isn't a night and day difference. If it's an old TS9 leave it alone.

    Go to analogman.com, read up on his TS-9 mods and pick one.

    I really dig Analogman's mods. I've been through so many boutique pedals, I still end up buying more and always come back to my Analogman True Vintage TS-808 and I just got a Silver Modded OD-9 that is just killer as well.

    Contrary to popular belief around here the tube screamer doesn't always need to be modded. I've heard plenty of good players using standard pedals and sound huge.

    I like the added gain of the keeley mod plus ts.
