Now that they have a mass-produced line and the USA ones will be known as "custom shop" amps?
They already are look at the website.
Yes. I own one.
I gotta say, though, the Shiva is a ****ing amazing beast. It's alive, I tell you. I've not used mine for a month now (it was at a practice space while I was tweaking my Supersonic for rehearsals). Anyhow, I've got it home and damn... Cranking this thing is like poking something awake, a beastly beast of tone awakening and roaring. The ****ing thing breathes. :RoCkIn
I think the Custom Shop 101B will, but not the Shiva
People have already been calling and making astronomical offers on my Custom Shop Duende. No way Im letting her go. Like ZenPeace69 said
I don't know if it had any influence on my answer........but I hope I have a 101B in the mail
I hope so also, I'm about to sell my 101b 1/2 stack!
I think we're missing something here, it appears to me that these "new" bogners are made in china but assembled in L.A. to bogners specs, in order to compete. The "custom shop" bogners are what we all have come to know and love as a standard hot rod boutique amp......Egnator did it with guitar center recently, MADE IN CHINA...
So.....what are we missing?
Only if supply of second hand amps drops relative to demand, or demand increases relative to supply. Can't see why a new line of entry level amps would do that.
Of course not.......I understood this thread as a fun thread and nothing else.......
Ever peeked inside a Bogner Shiva? Not exactly what I would call "Custom Shop" work.
Not saying they are bad amps or anything.
I have seen the XTC inside. Looks like a great well thought out layout. What's your point?
From the clip I saw...it seems like great amps. A really great 'grab & go' amp. With the verb and delay included, you just need the amp and a guitar and you are ready to jam
BTW....I don't think that the CS fenders would suffer if ordinary strats from Japan were all over the market.
I'm betting the new line of Bogners will be nice, but not as nice as the real deal.
I'm glad I don't care for Bogner amps. this Custom Shop format is
bunch of crap. A complete turn off man.
i was thinking about this the other day. first, bogner put his name on the line 6 spider valve series (well under $1k), then he has line 6 make an offshore amp series for him (again, at or under $1k). how many multiple $k amps does he expect to sell when he is competing with himself and everyone else in that price point? i guess i see his desire to move units but he is really downgrading the boutique name he built for himself.
I think it's simply the next step in a sensible business model, actually.
