the regular pedals (the ones that don't look like rocket ships) have an option of either true bypass or 2 (well) buffered bypass jacks.

The Rockets are also "true bypass".

I don't think the earlier examples are true bypass...pretty sure my Voodoo 1 isn't.

New ones are for sure...all my rockets are TBP.
Try it without power, if signal goes through when pedal is "off/bypass".

Yes, I have Concorde+ treble booster and Page-1 Fuzz and their buffers sound good. It's great that you can choose between hard wire bypass or buffered outputs.
I guess there were not many pedals in the "old days" that were TBP.
    :)

Sure there where, most of the British pedal pioneers only had one source for footswitches -- Arrow -- which just happened to make a six pole switch, the fuzzfaces and original solasound pedals are all generally wired "true bypass" with no LED.

The Rocket Series and all the new ones (the big ones with buffers or hard wire bypass) are TBP.
The old Voodoo Series (the small ones with two outputs) are not. I owned an old Voodoo Axe and it bled through when bypassed.
