1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

I prefer 1 11/16". The extra 1/16" doesn't sound like much but it makes the string spacing a little more comfortable for me. Try some different widths and find your personal fit.

I'm kinda torn between the 2; I like the 1 11/16 for chording and fingerstyle playing and the 1 5/8 for soloing.

I have a Taylor 6 string with a 1 7/8" nut, and that extra width allow me to do two hand chordal tapping stuff that I simply can't do with a thinner neck. I definately prefer wider necks, that's one of the reasons I went with PRS's when I first started getting serious about playing. Their wide fat neck width just "works" for me.

yeah my breedlove has 1 7/8ths and its super awsome, sometimes even a tad too wide for my massive hands, but i really like it, chords easy

    Donnie B.,
I'm going to be 59 in November and I'm playing 4 to 6 nights a week. The LAST thing I need is a double neck!
