So my son and I have been watching MI5 casually, sometimes a few shows a week, sometimes a few shows a month. We go to see where we left off on netflix a couple of days ago, and it is not there, and we're like 1 or 2 seasons from the final ones I think.

Google shows it was taken off on 2/1? Seems like they should give some warning or something?

I was fortunate to watch all they had. Great show. I was really getting into Waking the Dead now, but they dropped all of them on the same date…boo Netflix!

Are the DVD's still available? I think we've watched the entire series at least three times; well before Matthew Macfadyen's Pride and Prejudice and David Oyelowo's move to California.

Ha Saturday night it was close to my six year old's bed time but I say we'll start this and watch the rest tomorrow. We watched 20 minutes of Ninja Turtles. The next morning 2/1 it's gone. Kinda amusing.

I just looked on Amazon. Looks like you can still find instant video of the series episodes there.

Amazon cut a deal for exclusivity of a lot of BBC stuff a while back (2 years ago?). Netflix kept the rest until their current contract ran out.

Netflix toyed with expiration dates but abandoned them as "damned if you do, damned if don't" moment. But several sites publish lists of what is coming and going from Netflix every month.

I hate it when they do that. I had just settled into the first season of Battle Star Galactica, and then "BAM", it was gone.

MI5 is a great show. Too bad.....

The content owners decide what's available and for how long, not Netflix

That's a really odd view of things. That's like saying Gear Sellers decide what is going to sell and for how much, or vice versa, Gear Buyers decide what the final price and options are.

gotta figure out where we were up to then decide if it's worth paying for on amazon.

Funny, I had never heard the show called that.

Must have changed the title in the States because that term is a racial slur over here.
