Boss TU-3. The EP booster is not a buffer.

If I keep the EP always on,so it can act like a buffer, right?

the TU-3 has a great buffer in it. it's why i picked it over the turbo.

The EP adds some color, which is a good thing, but it doesn't work in every situation. I don't like it in combination with every drive pedal I've had, it works well with some and not as much with others. I would go for the tuner if those are my options, and get the EP for a boost/effect.
