I have no idea how this works but maybe the A’s couldn’t get anyone to invest because they struggle to sell seats and the Raiders had people throwing money at them because they sell seats :dunno

    Hope it works out.

The A's are a great franchise and they've got the talent to contend. Just need a revenue generating stadium so they can keep their good players. Like most fanbases, they will support a winner so it's good timing for this.

That’s the way it should be. As a business owner myself, I sure wish the state would build me a place of business.

Besides this possible deal, and Yankee Stadium, how many new parks/stadiums have been built with team money?

Gonna build a ballpark with no parking from the looks of it. As an A's fan from out of town I have mixed feelings. Thing is, I'm fine with the Coliseum although Mt. Davis sucks.

Privately built. It should mean no tax or city money used.

Yes, no parking. Hard to get to. Which is ridiculous. But they'll have a beautiful view of... what? The bay off of Oakland? Not exactly inspiring. Attempting to copy the Giants stadium.

What they should do is build new stadium in the north parking lot of the Oakland Coliseum which has more than enough acreage and parking with the benefit of a Bart stop.

Gotta give them their due in keeping that dino of a stadium, somewhat functional long past it's sell by date.

The design is incredible but I’m not quite sure it fits with the A’s vibe, which is gritty and close to the bone.

As a Giants fan who normally takes the ferry from Jack London Square, this is going to ruin my whole free parking sitch.

One of the worst sunburns I ever got was from sitting in Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum during an A's home game. No shade there.

Regarding the current design, what's with the shipping cranes on the dock? Do they really expect to have shipping containers coming in and out on the far side of an athletic stadium? (pun intended) If it is for supplies for the stadium itself, they will not need cranes of that size.

    Otherwise, it looks beautiful.

because Mark doesn't have that kind of money. He's a millionaire playing at the billionaire's table.
Oakland did not negotiate in good faith. They're going to be teamless all together if you ask me.
A's proposals have fallen through multiple times. Not holding my breath. And the way they run the team, who cares. go Giants.

OMG that open park where the stadium is will be homeless / druggie central.
I worked over there until a year ago or so. Good god, the homeless encampments under overpasses, police don't care.

I'll take the 'no way this happens' bet on this one.

A new ballpark would never be built in Oakland with public financing. The City of Oakland is still paying off the revenue bonds from the refurb of the Oakland Coliseum which was done to lure the Raiders back from LA.

From what I've read, the A's are counting on revenues, from the redevelopment of the existing Oakland Coliseum and Arena site to partially finance the new ballpark. If any team deserves a new ballpark it's the A's. They are playing in the last multi-use stadium and quite frankly the Oakland Coliseum is not up to modern standards. I do have many fond memories of that place :)
