as the 11th hour approaches, I hope a gsp1101 successor is unveiled.

I remember the Digitech rep mentioned something higher end than what they announced a month or two ago, will be announced at namm... I assume it's the rp1000 or the GSP1101 type flagship, but who knows with them... They are an enigma !

I just bought another GSP 2 days ago since I have real doubts that there will be a new GSP.
It would be nice to see a new one but I'm not gonna count on it.

The only thing they've announced is the RP360. Given that NAMM has officially started, I'm betting that's it.

Me too. I'm really disappointed with them.
The GSP is great but it's time to up the game. The RP360's look nice but as always, no MIDI. That's a deal breaker for me. I have other MIDI gear and need everything to be controlled by one controller.
A new RP1000 with MIDI and 3rd party IR capability would have been huge.

Since there is no new GSP I'm going to buy up a few used ones to keep for future use and pick up a Line 6 M5 to run in the GSP loop. That will address the GSP's only real shortcoming for me by giving me more FX options.

but the gsp already has those features. its the same modeling too.

so if they came out with say an rp1500 that di ir's at the same sample rate as the gsp wouldnt most people just say i can have that and more with a used gsp and c2?

gsp users i suppose can still feel great that nothing in their price point has been able to eclipse what is already there. :YinYang

Something new would be cool, but I don't need anything that my GSP can't already give me. I'm just a simple man with simple needs in that regard.

Floorboard unit with the midi that was missing from the RP1000, can be used with IR's, and features effects stacking. Apparently its just too much for them.

We always hope....

Two years ago, I was hoping that the GT100 would be it. But the amp tones in the Digitech gear are a cut above those and have been for a long time. The biggest problem I have with my RP1000 are the speaker sims.

Yeah, a gsp1101 ain't coming any time soon. Have known that for a couple of months now. I don't know what DT's plans are for 2014, but from what I know it wasn't in the cards for this NAMM or any time soon there after. Could surprise us later in the year, but only DT knows for sure.

even the high side product makers have said its takes a lot of hp and dsp to have decent quality impulse responses.

closest to a portable ir loader is the torpedo cab. gsp maxes at 256b samples iirc and quality irs are in the 1024b range. dt folks at must be beta suggested it would take more than a pair of adna2 chips to handle 512b and 1024b sample irs. users still complain 1024 isnt good enough even on high end units and are looking at two notes cab loaders.

Those chips have to have gone down in price.
Shove 3 or 4 of them into a unit!

I'm extremely disappointed that Digitech has ignored our cries for so long and not given us an updated GSP.

It feels they are more interested in creating iOS devices and entry level gear.

Very disappointing for a company that is so capable...
