Looks pretty serious. I hope it's precise.

It's a bit dizzying, and exciting, to ponder the number and speed of technological advances over the last 3 years. They will be coming even faster, as we know.

Um....sharks are on the endangered species list, but we can get some sea bass, and I believe they're ill tempered.

What I find as impressive as the laser itself is a targeting system that can keep that laser spot at a single point on a moving target a mile away, while being mounted on a moving vehicle itself.

Think about how hard it is to keep a laser pointer on a single spot from only a few feet away.

Power supplies are problematic with these beasties. They can only carry so much so all the gains in leathality have to come from the optics and guidance/targeting.

Anyone else noticing the disturbing trend of AI, laser and drone technology all coalescing at the same time?

Couple that with the navy's new rail gun on a ship platform and...wow!

Funny, I just read about one of our "weather satellites" exploding in orbit. (Yes, I know, things don't explode in space.)
The cause was said to be a sudden rise in temperature.

It was probably the first in a while that were NOT destroyed by an enemy.

    Maybe so.
Around 20 years ago I heard rumors of one of ours taken out by Russia with a partical excelerator.
No way to really know though.

I'm sure it's classified. There does seem to be an endless parade of satellite launches; perhaps that is a clue
