I'm likely going to need to get one for my Super Champ for this summer since I'm going on tour (not as glamourous as it sounds) with the church youth choir. We'll be going by bus and I want to protect the amp. I don't want to spend a fortune. Anyone know of a good, inexpensive source? Those guys on Ebay any good?

A good case is woth the money, especially if you have a special amp that needs protecting :)

I get all of my cases from georgiacase.com

Their cases rock hard and are made for touring pros. It's now a huge operation (as far as volume of cases made), but still run by one guy (Brian) and his wife, so there's no middle man ********. Their prices have always been way better than anyone else I have found.

Big Deal Cases in Canada are GREAT, and maybe cheaper than Calzone or Anvil... but not cheap.

You should ask yourself "how often am I gonna use it?" you CAN get a good quality used one...just keep a name brand in mind...Anvil etc..I bought an Anvil case, spent a fourtune and used it maybe twice! It's been sitting in storage so long, the skin is peeling but it's still surdy..just was too much for too little use..

Anybody have any familiarity with Odyssey cases? They have a turntable ATA style case that is almost exactly the right dimensions for the Super Champ. Musician's Friend has them for $99.

I have a guy who builds nice heavy duty cases for me. He's in Canada so the shipping is a bit more, but his prices are better than most so it's a wash. His name is Rick Brodbeck. You can contact him at:

    rbrodbeck@uniserve.com

I've been very happy with his work, and he's very reliable and fast.

+1 on Angstrom. Great service. Great cases. Reasonably priced.

Definitely. I have two cases from them via Ebay for my vintage Fenders, and the quality vs. price are outstanding. Not crazy expensive, or crazy cheap, just solid.

When I buy a road case, I don't want to just be satisfied, I want to be impressed. The Angstrom cases impressed me. :AOK

I had a case built for my fuchs by xcasewholsale and the quality is amazing. They quoted me the ship by date and a very reasonable price. They shipped on the exact date they quoted and it came a perfect fit and was even better than I had expected. I would highly recommend them to everyone.

I've got a Swart AST that I'm going to want to fly with.

Is there such a thing as a light, strong case?

+1 on Xcase, that is who we use. Tim is the man.....
It has been a while since I ordered, but every case I have ordered from them has been excellent and on time. Pricing is as good as anyone..
