So I'm finally ready to get an interface. I have no DAW as yet, so no ties but I'm after simplicity.

I understand the Focusrite stuff is good but allegedly has problems with Win10.

    What would be your recommendation?

I'm going to assume USB. I have a Pro40 I've used for a couple of years now and like it. It's firewire and I'm running it on a Win 10 machine but it's using a EIA card. I've never had any issues with Win 10 using it. I am migrating over to a Motu 2408 at the moment so I'm building another box but I expect it'll be fine.
I wouldn't have many concerns about starting off with a Focusrite. I like their mic pre's better than a lot of others. After you get into this a bit, you'll start looking for different flavors of mic pre's anyway.

I run a Focusrite Scarlett 18i8 on Windows 10 with no issues. IMO, there is no better bang-for-the-buck than the Scarlett line.

Focusrite has been putting out some great products lately. Also look into Audient and RME.

No problems here with Presonus Audiobox on Windows 7, 8 or 10.

+1 for the Scarlett Series. No problems at all with Win 10.

My machine updated from Win 7, I didn't need to update drivers or anything, it just kept on working.

Don't know what your price range is, but my Audient iD22 has performed perfectly with both my Vista, and now, Windows 10 systems. For what I do, it's the best recording and playback interface I can imagine- the DAC alone is awesome. Good advice above and good luck in your search!

Ditto this. I've had my 18i8/Reason 8/Win10 rig running flawlessly for almost a year.

I'm running an M-Audio Firewire 1814. Worked fine in Windows 10 with Windows 7 drivers. I hated Windows 10 though and went back to 7.

Win 10 will now run Thunderbolt. Get a Focusrite Clarett. 10 GB/second data transfer.

What kind of hardware can you get to run Thunderbolt on 10? (and once again, watch out for that Win10 Anniversary update, it could eat a DAW alive)

Any T-bolt product with the correct driver and PCI/E card. Take your pick.

My Steinberg UR22 never missed a beat when I updated to Win 10. In fact, I believe windows 10 made it more versatile and transparent. I'm able to run alot of software along side the interface that in the past would have caused it to hang up.

IMHO it is _really_ hard to beat the bang-for-the-buck you get with the Tascam interfaces.
