It must be SO LOUD in there though. Reminds me of the OSU marching band. Just at random times during football season a ton of them will all get together and just start marching through bars at night. I was drinking beer playing foosball with a friend and out of nowhere at least 30 members of the band (horns AND drums) playing at FULL TILT and in costume, marched single file through the front door and right out the back. It took several minutes for them all to get through and it was friggin LOUD. HAHAHAHAH!!!!!!

That was awesome. Sax player needs to add the moon walk to his moves.

Wow - WONDERFUL! The guitar player was just OK, but the rest of the band was AWESOME! (GRIN) Love the Bari player - what a blast!

The Art Ensemble of Union Square! I mean Union Square Express Stop!

Thanks for posting this, great stuff.

    Thanks, Dana O.

You have no idea... that's the express stop I hoof to instead of 8th st when I'm runnin' late. All tile, all the time. It's gets tiresome when your staring down the barrel of 10-16 hrs in the studio. Or just finishing up. If I hear "The Boxer" on ****ing pan flute one more time......?

Just clicking on this thread made me put on my subway face.

There have been a lot of videos of this band over the last couple years. The bari player is so killin'!

A lot of music from those three.

Man, I just listened a couple more times - picked up the form of the tune. Those cats are wickedly funky and greasy, and its so different it sorta cleanses my musical palette.

    Very refreshing and great groove.

    Thanks again, Dana O.

That was fun. I would stay and listen. I loved living in NYC. That sax player has a pretty strong embouchure.

I clicked in here to gripe about the number of exclamation points in the thread title...but then I watched the video and enjoyed it. Consider my palate cleansed haha

I grabbed a trumpet and got a few blaps in but *sigh* I can't keep up. I"m terrible really. I can't even even say I play. :phones
