    Number 2, to me had the best signal to noise ratio. Almost no noise floor that I could hear with headphones. Chad, was this you observation, or just a by product of YouTube compression?

    (from my other post)

    I have that cab IR and found it very bright, so it will be interesting to see what the results are.

    Here's my take:

    1 = thin in the low end and bright in the highs
    2 = thin in the low end and darker in the highs
    3 = full in the low end and clear in the highs, almost a touch scooped mids
    4 = full in the low end and smoother in the highs

    I preferred 3, then 4, then 2, then 1

    My guess (completely a guess and probably wrong):

    1 = Headrush
    2 = POD HD
    3 = Helix
    4 = AX8

    could be many things at play here - but being many cables involved there could be some rf interference ... but we shall see

    Thanks for doing it. Going to be interesting to hear the results. What do you think #4 will be released?

    After listening to it twice through my crappy PC speakers, I'm agreeing with Jarick at this point:

    1 = Headrush
    2 = POD HD
    3 = Helix
    4 = AX8

    Although, the only one I feel any confidence in is #2 being the POD. And even that is not high. It's so hard to tell with an unfamiliar cab IR.

    I have no idea what the Headrush sounds like, so that's just process of elimination for me with 3 and 4 being the tones I prefer, so I assume they are the other two.

    They all sound very usable to me, although there are certainly real differences. Since the HD500x isn't designed to use third-party IR's... and considering how influential IR's are to the final tone, I wonder how well it would compare to the others if you had to use one of its internal IR's?

    Still, given the significant price differential between the units, it's a strong value proposition for using a HD500x for a Fender-ish base clean tone.

    Since it's a game... I'll make a guess.

    1. AX-8
    2. HD500x
    3. Helix
    4. Headrush

    Look forward to hearing the other model comparisons.

    Just to verify, is the order the same across all video clips?

    So:

    1 = Modeler A
    2 = Modeler B
    3 = Modeler C
    4 = Modeler D

    Every time, in every video?

    My main comment would be...good playing and I wouldn't throw any moldy veggies at any of these if I heard them :)

    I think it helps show how important playing and cab are IMO.

    I'm surprised with all the Grammy-winning, golden-eared sound engineers that frequent this subforum that we're not getting more guesses here :)

    I preferred number 3 because it sounded the most Fenderish to me.

    There seems to be something common with 3 and 4, not sure if it is the way they were eqd. I know the line 6 are a little bright, and not sure if the highs were brought down so I'm gonna go with this...

    1. AX8
    2. Headrush
    3. HD500X
    4. Helix

    Nice work...I'd vote you add a poll function where people vote for their favorite riff #. I root for the underdog so it would be awesome to see the POD win as the clip everyone preferred!

    1 the AX8? No way. 1 is clearly the Pod HD.... i say listening with not ideal speakers....
