Wasn't sure if everyone was aware that Fractal Audio has the AXE MK II II on sale for $1999.
yeah they are discontinuing the MkII so once the $2000 units are gone the option will be the $2500 XL+
if you don't need the extra user preset/cab slots, FASlink built in and slightly better LCD screen then now would be the time do purchase
Seems like a crazy good price for a new Axe
Can't wait for the whining about "devaluation" to start...
After the Mark II stock is depleted and there is only the XL+ available for $2500 I wonder how much devaluation will actually occur.
devaluation happens once discontinued and as expected, but the pace is slower than with most electronics.
Yes, however the fact that the Mark II has the same dsp (tone) as the XL+ may keep that pace slower than normal. A potential buyer may likely be willing to spend $2K (the current price) for a used Mark II if the only other alternatives are new and used XL's at higher price points.
Just speculating, but I remember Ultras still retaining a large part of their value even after the II was released (which did have better tones) because of the lack of stock of the newer model to meet overall demand.
still the same high price in europe.
yeah but BMW and Mercedes are cheaper so I guess it all comes out in the wash ;-)
If you are going to go there to score things I think the Europeans have been coming out way ahead for decades in that contest.
They rule the automobile world in my not-even-close-to-humble opinion
Well, they did before the Tesla Model S.
probably making room in the product line for the AX8
unless you're driving more than 400km in a day and don't want to hang out for an hour to recharge...
