AxeFX headphone confusion

What's the last word on using headphones with the AxeFX? I read a couple of threads on the Axe forum and it only left me more confused. Seems people think you need to use a headphone amp, yet Cliff himself says the Axe has plenty of drive capability.
Also do you need to dial in tones exclusively for headphones?

There is no confusion, what Cliff said was that the AXE might have the output power to drive headphones but it's the wrong output impedance so the result will lead to non-linearities.

Headphones are not an ideal monitoring for anything, especially not for a guitar amp.
You can use them when you have too but I would not build presets with it.
Those little 1" speakers sitting right up to your ears will never sound the same as a 12" speaker roaring on stage.

OK, so if you have to use cans it's still advised to use a headphone amp for a better impedance match. I get it. Thanks :aok
