Hi guys. Been a while! I have been busy with the 5 month old twins! Here are some clips I just did while testing some ideas. Feedback is always welcome!

http://www.scottlernermusic.com/mayclips/BlingReggae.MP3 <Super articulate and clear tone

http://www.scottlernermusic.com/mayclips/BlingReggae03midcapLoop1.MP3 <Best tone???

This last one a version of 500 Miles high that includes a really fast doubletime part. Hear me fall on my face! It is a bit darker than the top clips. I used a Wizard speaker instead of my CL80s and the amp was set darker as well.

I'll try to hang around this section more and comment a bit as well.

Thanks!

Hi Scott, fun clips. What is the amp? BTW I have been thinking about getting some sort of recording unit, what do you use? I am not interested in a fancy recording studio rig just something simple to lay down some clips and original tracks... Thanks, David

PS, congrats DAD! :D

Thanks Blues!

The amp is a Fuchs 50 watter. THD cab with Celestion Lead 80s. Baker B1 on bridge pup, except the 500 Miles High clip which was my Baker RF on bridge. I used an SM57 mic into Groove Tubes Brick preamp into EMU1820M sound card and breakout box. Sequoia 7 software. Nothing fancy, I am just a home recording hack!

Thanks for listening!

That was some sweet sounds, too cool playing as usual.
Those Celestions...hmm we have a bunch at work that we have not yet unpacked, maybe I should get them installed in a cab and try them out.
I really liked that clear sound you have.

I liked the sound of the first Bling and 047, in that order.

None of them sounded bad to me, mind ya.

Hey Scott, long time no see! How are the little whipper-snappers doing? Haha

You've got a really sensitive ear for tone, because they all sound close to me. Ultra slick playing as usual. How 'bout popping over to Guitar.com once in a while????

Wow, that 500 miles high got pretty crazy toward the end. Its good to hear you pushing the envelope and stepping out of your comfort zone like that a bit

I'm back to listening through ****** PC speakers for awhile until I get by recording PC debugged, but they all sounded great to me. 500 miles high was rippin'! You might have been pushing it, but I didn't hear you stumble.

As always, it's a pleasure to hear your stuff.

The first Bling Raggae clip reminds me so much of John Scofield at some parts I don't know why man, more the tone than the choice of notes though (although at some parts, the choice of notes as well :p ) but it's sounding great!

About freakin' time. I gotta tell you though...who gives a crap about the minute changes in tone. The playing is cool, and that IS really what matters!!!!!!

Thought it was just me concerning the tone thing. All sound good, each has it's own uses. Variety is what keeps my interest. Great playing, really dug 500 Miles.

What the big guy said...

Nice playing and tones all 'round.

That said, the last half of '500 Miles High' is my fave as you're going for it more - I hear more SL there than in many of the other clips, where I tend to be reminded of RF, etc... All IMHO, of course...

Hope you are managing to get some sleep!

Obviously Scott is always going to post something terrific in all regards playing, tone, ect. I told him he has that Sco vocabulary, with a Henderson "slant", a Ford touch and feel mixed with Scott Lerner.

Peace,
Duffy

Scott,

I really love the 500 Miles High clip, very musical. Lovely horn - like tone and phrasing.

I hope you don't mind me saying that I think your playing has improved by leaps and bounds since I first joined this board - remember my "overplaying" crack? Not any more, great stuff, Scott, beautiful music.

Perhaps I ought to have a go for twins?

Best, Pete.
