    Hi,

I've had a few request for publishing the BT for this tune so I thought I would.

I'm hoping to hear a load of funny, interesting and whacky/freaky versions from all of you out there.

    Here is:
Lock Up the Funk Backing Track

    Enjoy and post :D

    Cheers,

Way cool, did you create that backing? If so, what did you use? I have a decent set of speakers with a sub attached to my computer and the bass and drums are incredibly punchy. Thanks, this will be a blast to play with.

    Hi Michael,

I recorded this on my PC using Cubase SX 3.1.
Drums were Stylus RMX and the bass was me playing my old Squier Jazz Bass through the Guitar Rig 2 plug-in using the SVT model. A bit of compressor (t.c. bundle) used at mixdown.

Some of my swedish pals have told me this track lacks bass. I, like you, have good speakers and I intentionally put a lot of energy in the really low registers so if you have small speakers or just generic computer speakers this track won't be as much fun.

    Cheers,

    Mats N

    DAMN!!

That is a GREAT track! I sure hope you are making some money on these types of backings some how.. You really have some fantastic concepts for tunes that make you want to move. Killer stuff! I am busy invoicing my customers, or I would do a take right now. Ill do one asap. KILLER! Cool bass playing and great tone as well! :AOK

    Hi Tag,

    Thanks for the kind words!
As a matter of fact I'm not making any money whatsoever on my backing tracks. I've been thinking about ways to make it happen but I doubt that people want to pay for backing tracks when there are so many to be had for free on the Internet. I do have a few ideas that may come to fruitition but that remains to be seen.

    Cheers,

I'm with tag on the quality BT. The clav part makes me want to poke my eyes out and take up piano.

    Hi Tybone,

    Thanks for listening.
I've just fell in love with funky clav parts after having heard Stevie Wonder's Superstition.

    Cheers,

How rude of me, Mats. I've been jamming over this track for a week and forgot to say "Thank You!!!" :D
