Disclaimer: This is started all in good fun

The '80s made musicians do things that I'm sure many look back on and cringe. I'm sure a lot of it had to do with the advent of Music TV and the merging of all the different worlds (choreography, directors, etc.).

Now, in my eyes the Billy Squier video for Rock Me Tonight is the single worst video ever--much of the blame falling on the director, who later went on to do High School Musical--but also to Billy for letting himself be talked into it. :)

Here is my offering, done by Michael Sembello, someone I respect as a musician, no doubt about it. Michael studied with Pat Martino as teen, could play his butt off, and then went to work for Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, George Duke and others.

The video speaks for itself. Michael, if you ever read this, I hope you have a sense of humor. :)

Hypothetical: let's say you're in that VV video, maybe the rhythm guitarist. Do you show that to your grandchildren? :)

The 80's are the antithesis of today's hip. Holy hell VV wrote HORRIBLE solos most of the time. Pick a damn key!!!!!

The Ian Gillan version of Living For The City may be the worst cover song recording I've ever heard. Settled: it is.

Say what you want about this video, in general, but (despite the "mom jeans"), that chick does / did have a SMOKIN' ass...

Seconded. Holy crap is that terrible. If Stevie Wonder ever heard it he might just wish he was deaf too.

I don't know, that Yngwie video is so bad, it's good. Can't imagine how much they spent on that set. I always dug that song, too.

Dokken was my favorite L.A. metal band, but this gets my vote as the worst video. George could barely keep a straight face:

They made up for it with this awesome clip, which was what made me a Dokken fan:

And actually this video is arguably worse . . . from another favorite band:

The Sembello one is nuts, Neer.
These are all great. Funny how they still provide entertainment, maybe not as originally hoped for.

This one isn't as bad as others. but, I remember laughing at this one every time as a kid. Dweezil Zappa might provide the only redeeming quality. What the hell was with all of the Guerilla warfare scenes? What did any of this have to do with anything?

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the other guys in that video are Slaughter - as in Mark Slaughter and Co., who had some hits after they kicked VV out of his own band!:rotflmao
