Disclaimer: This is started all in good fun The '80s made musicians do things that I'm sure many look back on and cringe. I'm sure a lot of it had to do with the advent of Music TV and the merging of all the different worlds (choreography, directors, etc.). Now, in my eyes the Billy Squier video for Rock Me Tonight is the single worst video ever--much of the blame falling on the director, who later went on to do High School Musical--but also to Billy for letting himself be talked into it. Here is my offering, done by Michael Sembello, someone I respect as a musician, no doubt about it. Michael studied with Pat Martino as teen, could play his butt off, and then went to work for Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, George Duke and others. The video speaks for itself. Michael, if you ever read this, I hope you have a sense of humor.
