I'm curious as well. Has an ef86 channel and a 12ax7 channel, kind of like the new vox ac15 handwires. i think its a limited run.

Picked one up recently at Wild West Guitars. Great sounding head, amazing small size and portability factors. Will power up 4/8/16 OHMs. Very simple layout, and great tones. I've never owned a Bad Cat before, and frankly had never been overly impressed with their tone before, but the Lil'15 had been voiced in a way I really like. Great little giggin' and travelling amp.

    Stratclaw,

What does the gain channel sound like? I am looking for a thick rhythm crunch sound.

    Hey Jimmydeez...
I like the gain channel. Not high gain territory, but goes from slight gain to the heavy thick crunch you're asking me about. Very useable. It also takes pedals as well as the clean channel.
I've owned/tried a number of low wattage offerings, and this head is the most gig worthy of the bunch, IMO.

    Stratclaw,

Can you give a run down on the tubes? What kind does it use? DOes it have a tube Rec?

Thanks.... I am really considering picking this amp up.

It seems like the amp I have been waiting for. No frills voxy clean and crunch, footswitchable, in a small size, and sub 30 watt amp.

    Yup...
It's got two EL-84's, one EF-86 for the clean channel, one 12AX7 for the gain channel, SS rectifier.
It's pretty much as you described what you have been keeping your eyes open for.
The Wild West Guitars website gives a little more description about it.

    Stratclaw,

Just one other question, does the clean channel have some headroom? Or does it get distorted/grainy pretty quickly.

Also what other low wattage amps have you tried in the past? Just want to get a sense of how the bad cat lil 15 compares with other amps.

Thanks! Sounds like a great amp - great size, and hopefully enough volume for smaller gigs and rehearsal.

    Howard

For such a small head, it stays clean very nicely, particularily with single coils. For most smaller gig applications, it will work well-----if you mike your amp, no problem whatsoever.
On the lower wattage side, I've owned a Goodsell Super 17, Stark X-Ray,
Aiken 18W Invader,DrZ Maz Jr, various Fenders, etc....and have played through countless others along the road. Not saying the Li'15 is a magic bullet, but for it's size, it's a very nice sounding amp.

    Stratclaw,

Thanks a lot for the info. I was thinkin of a couple of those lower wattage amps you mention - its good to hear that the lil' 15 can hang with those amps. Thanks.

I will.... I am praying that it ships today. I hope to have it for my band practice on wed.

I will probably be using the Lil'15 as a clean and crunch rhythm amp and my Budda Superdrive 18 as my lead tone.

BTW I talked to James over at Bad Cat and the EF86 controls the gain channel just like the BC-30 or DC-30 amps.
