1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

First of all, I think it's repugnant to judge another player we don't know.....we can have opinions (like the Warren Haynes thread elsewhere). But he's a pro, has several good gigs and is makes his living at it. People in that position are fair game.

But here we have a bad recording showcasing a player that we know nothing about. If he's done 4 years at Berkley, Miami, MI etc. one could say maybe he/she doesn't get it. However if this is a person who's been playing for 6 months or a year (or 20 years) and is trying to express himself on his instrument, who are we to make the good/bad/indifferent call.

A mind is like a parachute, it only works if it's open.

I thought "bad guitar player" was just the name of the song.........
Sounds like it is slowed down digitally, almost like a mismatched
tempo for a loop or sample......I don't think the playing is bad at all...just
a little weird, like digitally slowed down flamenco or Al dimeola..
could def hear the grain was out of line, particularly in the 2nd half.
My guess is this post should of been posted on 4/1/06......
