I just recently cashed my chips in and buzzed off all my hair (or what was left of it). I just used a run-of-the-mill Norelco electric razor. Now that I've decided to make this a regular "hair-do", I'm looking at a specialized electric razor for my head.

What do you use to shave your head?

Razor and baby oil works best for me. Oil keeps blades in great shape as well

I don't. It grows where it grows, and it doesn't grow where it doesn't grow.

Yes, razor in the shower. It best done slowly and by feel at first.

I stopped doing it sometime ago, after doing it for years. Now I am a .5 at the barber.

Schick Extreme 3 (flexes just the right amount) in the shower with Edge gel. 2-3 times a week, it takes 5 minutes.

This is what I do now, but when I was shaving, a Braun straight foil shaver worked best for me. When that wore out I used Edge gel and Bic sensitive-skin single blade disposables until I decided to quit shaving. The "sensitive skin" type seems to keep the blade from scraping as closely against the shin as the standard, and the single blade is much more resistant to clogging than multiple blade types.

I was never happy with the quality of head shave I got from an electric. When I first started shaving my head I bought a Headblade. At the time I was shaving my face with a Norelco and had never used a regular razor, so this made getting used to shaving my head with a real razor a lot easier.

Six or seven years later the little handle/hook broke, and before I bought a new one I decided to try a regular razor (I had a Gillette Fusion lying around that I'm not even sure where I got it!). Got used to it really quickly, and I quickly moved to shaving my face with it as well.

Tip: keep a small container of isopropyl alcohol in the shower, and store the blade in it (after rinsing it, of course). The real reason blades dull is from oxidation, not from your whiskers; storing it in alcohol will increase its life twenty-fold. I change the blade once every three months or so, which saves a $hit-ton of money.
