We need a good band photo. Most publicity photos look entirely goofy, IMHO.... staged, posed... Whatever...

Any creative ideas that don't look like they are trying to hard? Genre is stoner/psychedelic.

Well in general if there are say four of you, three should stand in a group to one side and the guy who is either about to get kicked out or about to O.D. from his excesses should be off by himself staring into the distance. That's the formula.

Try searching because I know there was a pretty big thread about this a while back. There was one about bands against a wall in photos too.

You need a brick wall in front of some railroad tracks. You then all must wear t-shirts of bands who influence you. Next all of you look away from the camera in different directions. The look on your faces says you pondering something beyond mere human comprehension, and we are also too kewl to be in this photo shoot. Skulls in the foreground are optional. Done.

    Thanks-

I actually tried the search- from mobile. Too many topics with these keywords. Should try google through my laptop, rather than forum runner.

    Hah, yes!

And scowling is popular too because you need to let everyone know how much you own that pentatonic box at the 12th fret GD it!

Stand in front of a brick wall that has train tracks painted on it.. Then rename your band "Cardinal Sin"

I hate band pics where they look like they're trying to cure cancer. Smile.

Take your coolest looking guitar. Extra points if it's a doubleneck.

For the love of **** don't stand in front of a brick wall.

If you have a pile of stacks/cabinets just set them up and stand in front of them.

Your genre is stoner/psychedelic and you're having difficulty coming up with a creative idea?

I'll just let that hang there.

I dislike the 'look at me' posing band pics. Just use a shot from a gig and do some crafty magic with photoshop.
