I am thinking of ordering a Barber Dual Discrete. I already own a bunch of his pedals at the moment, and should be able to answer my own question with some testing, but I was curious which combinations people like and why. Which two Barber pedals would stack best in one enclosure, which order, and why?

I have an LTD SR, Gain Changer, DD/DC, and 1/2 Gainer. I am thinking LTD > DD or DDLG.

I think you're on track. DDLG for sure.

Yeah, I spent some time with the DD / DC today, and I really prefer the LG over the standard DD. It is more open sounding and not as dark. The DD does open up and brighten up as you get the volume up, but I don't think I would use it over my RAT for higher gain.

I'm actually contemplating replacing my gain changer with a dual discrete after my name for my KOT comes up but I'm feeling the LTD/DD combo too

I just bought a ltd/unltd DD. My dream combo. David Barber said they only had red enclosures left. I would act soon. The dual discrete may be going the way of the larger pedal enclosures...

I previously was using a half gainer into a gain changer set to unltd. But this is perfect for low and mid gain.

No not really the LTD is more fendery and the UNLTD is sort of more of that into medium gain. I do use them into a Gries 15, Allen Old Flame, Mesa TA-15.

I also own just about all the other barber of pedals. Fyi.

I contacted Dave by E,he indicated that they had a few left-over boxes, either 2nds or mismatched. He also had a number of requests,so he agreed to put together a “small batch”,as I call it.He’s such a nice guy to work with,I’d encourage you contact him & ask.My whole process took 3 months-ish,& while I won’t quote his price,it was amazingly affordable for what it is.
I will get back after I see mine;I have no idea the color, knobs or graphics! It’s gonna be a surprise.

So a beautiful Black Sparkle Dual Discrete showed up today.
    It’s all that!!Sounds fantastic;all the Barber trademarks,clarity,richness & sweetness of tone.Individually &/or together,the different voices compliment each other.And stacks with other drives,if I need more.
    I count 8 or 9 trimpots inside,should I want to“fine tune”my tone.
    Dave & Ronni.......Thanks!!
