for those that have played these 2 great pedals, do you find them similar. I have heard they are, but would love to hear from experienced TGPers on this. Im sure ultimatly i will find out first hand, but ive been considering the KoT lately , and also would like to revisit the LTD or Half gainer. Anyway, thanks for any input.

I would say yes and no, they're both low to mid gain, but the LTD can sound bigger due to the bass it can add, the Kot will always drop off a bit of low end, which is nie into a slightly broken up amp. I like them both, LTD has a slight edge for a clean amp and the Kot into a dirtier amp, though they're both great pedaals!!!

Thanks for the reply. Obviously im just rambling here...but would you say the LTD is closer to the Timmy? Maybe more transparent than the KoT? Thanks.

well, it depends on which LTD we're talking about too. there are pretty big differences between the SR which is much closer to the tim, and the regular LTD which I'd put in the Kot camp, as it adds more mids. I had an SR, and found that into a clean fender type amp it was almost too neutral, something I find with the tim pedals too. I like that the regular Ltd and the Kot have a slight mid push, not tube screamerish but they bump lower mids a bit to push your tone forward a bit. Jus my 2 cents though,

Love my LTD SR
Havnt played a KOT but compared to my TIM the LTD is less transparent ,but i like that.
There are other differences (LTD is a tad looser, more compressed ) but these are not negatives at all.
The Barber DD and LTD SR are no.2 and 3 on my list of fav pedals I've used(TS808HW no.1) to me the Barbers have a sound that says vintage Marshall.
Tim is nice too, certainly the most transparent "more" pedal I've played, but I'm not blown away by the mid gain settings.
