Hey all!

Recently I posted this thread:

https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/605158

Whelp, construction is under way. I've decided to start this thread to update everyone on the construction.

Below are pics of the room bare what nothing going on, the next are the walls being framed, and the final link are the ceiling joists hung. If anyone has any questions or suggestions, please feel free.

Before Construction

Walls

Ceiling Joists

I'd also like to thank Glide for all the advise and pictures he's provided during the process. They have been a HUGE help! Thanks Glide!

Damn...they used chipboard as sub flooring in your house! Is that even legal?
That might be OSB Oriented Strand Board, which is very common in construction these days.
Although it does not look as compressed and waxy as it usually does.

The space is looking like it is shaping up nicely!
Any plans to hang the ceiling to reduce transmission of sound to the upstairs?

Nice. Hope you don't have to move a B3 down those stairs!
:rollMy old music teacher had one of those he'd use with his band and when he'd jam with us at the high school,
we'd all carry it up the stairs together. It was something like 20 steps, but with four guys it was not that bad.
Thanks for the memories!

The room is free standing and has it's own ceiling joists. Absolutely nothing in the studio will touch the existing house.

Looks great!

Are those ceiling joists decoupled from the floor above?
Yes, we have a completely separate run of ceiling joists for the studio. The current floor joists of the house (nor any other part) are touched by the studio. :JAM:D

That space looks like it'llworkout just fine.

Good luck!
