I use delay a lot, but almost never with a solo. In general, to get a subtle gilmore type solo delay, what beat subdivision are we looking at? I know these things don't need to be done precisely and most of you will think in terms or milliseconds, but what would be the closest average subdivision for the repeats - 8th notes? dotted 1/4s?

Huh? That would depend on the tempo. You can just subdivide and figure it out. I may not understand what you're asking here.

for rhythms i like 330-500 ms with just 1 repeat and set for dotted 8ths. for leads i like a shorter delay maybe 150-300 ms, still 1 repeat so it doesn't wash out too much. adjust the mix to taste.
