Bass Tuning pegs on a guitar

Hi, I like how bass tuning pegs look as they are oversized compared to guitar tuners, I was wondering, would it be possible to replace only the peg part of guitar tuners for those large ones made for bass, like this :

But on a Gibson style headstock ?

Thanks.

Just about anything is possible if you're willing to spend the $$$. You'd need to find a custom machinist/welder type. I'd just do some google searches.

Just replacing the buttons? Sure, I suppose you could, but it would require sleeves to size down the holes in the buttons to match the shaft, and since it is a flattened shaft this could require a bit of work to make the sleeves proper.

Of course if the buttons were wider than 1.5", they would hit each other when in the right position. And you wouldn't be able to use a normal string winder. And adding more mass to a Gibson style headstock makes it all the more prone to breaking. And it would look like Dumbo. They look okay on a bass, but proportion is a significant factor in aesthetics.

In other words, yes you could, but it would require some work, and end up both less ergonomic and ugly. Not a good idea in my opinion.

I guess the reason I want the button is because the headstock on this guitar I'm completely modding is not well proportionned and big tuners would make it look good like the bass version of the instrument, here are some pictures :

The guitar I own :

Yeah that's what I meant actually, get the button changed, I just didn't know how this particular part was called.

What would be the biggest guitar tuner buttons ?
