So a few weeks ago I ventured to my favorite guitar store and played a Bassbreaker 007 head though the matching cab and really liked it. I went in looking for the 15w version, but the cleans on the 007 were fine to me and it sounded very nice at low volume.

However, I stupidly forgot to try the combo version before I left. Has anyone been able to compare the two? Does the 10" speaker hold up against the cab?

The cab sounds a lot better. The 10" combo still sounds pretty good, but when I A/B'd the two, the cab smoked it. No question.

Yeah that was my assumption. Do you think the difference would matter all that much for recording? I have no problem with a 10" speaker as long as it sounds good in its own right.

Recording is another can of worms, I don't know enough about it to give an opinion. There's a million variables with recording
