I have an old Fender cab at with a 4 ohm impedance. The Baseman 10 combo says on the back panel total load 8 ohm, so would 4 ohm cab work with this or not? What impedance cab would work?

4 ohm would be mismatched but ok.. No lower and certainly not 2, 4 ohm cabs.
    Ideally, an 8 ohm cab.

    You have a 4 ohm 2x12?
You could rewire it in series to 16 ohms, that'd be a better sounding mismatch than 4 ohms.
4 ohms on an 8 ohm Fender is kinda cold sounding, not my favorite.
It'll work, but it won't be the best the amp has to offer imo.

Well, it turns out I won't even be using this combination anyway, the Fender Bassman 10 I was looking at has sold. Oh well...
