I've had a 59 LTD bassman for about a year now and I love it...mostly. My only issue is that when I play with my epiphone sheraton with BG pure 90's and I pick hard on a low string on a clean setting theres a real "snap" or maybe a "pop" or a "crack", it's hard to describe but the note sounds extremely percussive and its very distracting. This takes away from the smoothness of the and makes me feel like I can't play hard. is this a natural quality of the amp or maybe my pickups?

I'd suggest recording it and posting a sample here.

The description is too vague. For me, at least.

If other guitars don't have this issue it's in the Sheraton. If all guitars sound like this it's probably tube related.

If you're describing what I think you're describing, then it's perfectly normal. Some guitars will do that, and some amps are sensitive enough to pick that up. On other guitars, the action may not be high enough to let the snap ring out, or the pickups may be too compressed to pass that along.

    As mentioned:
    -swap guitars
    -plug in different speakers
    -check tubes and sockets
