Before I buy a Vox AC50CPH...is there another head around $600?

I'm trying to do my best to have a gig worthy rig for not too much money. I've gone through a lot of gear and have just come to a place where I don't feel the need or desire to have lots of expensive gear. So I've been looking into the Vox AC50CPH and for the money ($549 @ GC right now) it's a pretty great head. The cleans are very Voxy and the dirty is great. Add a boost to the mix and I've got just about every tone I use. FX loop and reverb just sweeten the deal.

I don't really know of much else out there that is around the $600 that I'd do better to buy but before I do I figured I should ask the masses if I'm missing anything?

Two channels, 50 watts, foot switch included, and Vox tones all for $549 ... go for it! :AOK

If it sounds good to you that is all that matters. If you buy it from GC or MF or some other place with a 30~45 day satisfaction guarantee you can always take it back later if it doesn't meet your expectations.

If you do get it, let us know how it works out (after the honeymoon period of course :)).

it's my go to amp at GC. it's great for that price and i almost bought one myself but i got a used fender supersonic for $800 instead. the only thing i have against the vox is the channel 2 can be to fuzzy at times but channel one is fantastic.

yeah I noticed that. I'm hoping tubes and speakers help this alot. Those warfdales can be really bright I think.

thanks for the option. I'm looking for something with bog bottles. I played a Rebel 20 briefly and it was ok...but not for me.
