Bend & Vibrato technique

    Do you do any bends away from the direction of your thumb?

    I'll take that as a 'no'? Just checking, top+bottom E strings can do bends away from the fretboard edge, any size you can pull. B & A can do half-tone toward the edge, and any size away from the edge. G & D can do up to 1.5 tone bend in either direction. All useful in country blues, and country when you may want to also play an adjacent string at the same time, without choking it for the string bend. I tend to do 1st finger bends away from the thumb, but it's more habit than purpose.
