ok,I need a 15 watt head after the holidayz and I would like some input on the one to get.My music style is Zep'ish type music with mellow cleans and breaking into heavy stuff (not quite metal tho). I'd like something that cleans up as you roll off the volume too.I prefer a single channel amp if possible. The ones that come to mind are as follows

    Egnater-rebel 20
    Vox-night train
    Orange-tiny terror
    Jet City-20
Marshall-Haze 15(not into the on brd fx but read they are bypassable)
a little over my price range.

only gonna have around $500 to spend so,??used is ok too for the right amp.any suggestions would really help, thanks.

Out of those I would say the Tiny Terror is your best bet for what you are looking at. I don't own one, but I've played the TT on many occasions, and the Vox once. Both are nice though.

I've had a Tiny Terror. It was a nice little amp. I used it for quite a while. Very simple controls, nice sound. I had a chance to demo a Rebel and a Night Train. They were OK.
Haven't heard the Haze. I bought a Jet 20 head the other day and I like it a lot! Cleans up relatively well as long as you do not have the gain/preamp turned up really high. For $299, you can't go wrong. You could even get the head and the cab for 5 bills........................

Morgan AC20 sounds amazing! Its pricey, but worth it!
Or another contender, the Blankenship Leeds 21 or Leeds Carry-on

    Vox NT...

Really versitile, best with single coils IMHO.

Pretty loud and a great selection of different tones.

Have heard demos of the new Jet City 20 head and appears interesting. I picked up the Marshall Haze 15 head in June and love it. You can indeed bypass the on-board effects (when clicked off, the effects are true-bypassed). Have heard shoot-outs against other small heads, and am happy w/ my choice.

Doesn't Blackstar make one? Those amps are supposed to be great!

Gotta say, i played the Rebel 20 was very impressed by the sound. Build quality is a different discussion. The rebel 20 definitely kills the Nighttrain and the Orange. If you're trying to keep it cheap, i'd go with the Rebel20. Otherwise, take a major step up and check out a Morgan Ac20 or AC20TB.

For what your doing, the Fargen MiniPlex should be topping the list. It's a bit above your budget, but I see the MKIs go for $700 shipped & PPled all the time. I own one and love it for the Zep. Also, you might want to keep your eye out for an old Supro.
