I need a good cab, 1X12, for small gigs, I like celestion vintage 30 or classic lead 80, I want a small cab, but I will use it with a 50 watt head. What is the best choice? I like budda, bogner, please give me a suggestion

    Thanks..

Tone-Tools great - but seemingly very hard to reach these days.

I also really like the Rivera TAC112 cab.

+1 on the Tone Tools or Bob Burt cabs. Bogner also makes a couple of nice 1x12 cabs.

Love my Tone tools, small light and BIG sound.
But yeah from what I hear Cas seems to be off the map for some reason.
I once playd a Bogner cube that was amazing but then I bought one for myself and didn't like it at all. So if you can play them, try some Bogner cubes.

I love the sound of my Diezel 1x12 with the custom speaker Peter uses.

Avatar makes a great 1x12 with about 3 million speakers to choose from :)

    I suggest a Hellatone 60L

There is some dude that sells new 1x12 cabs on ebay. They look as good as the avatars and he sells em new unloaded for around $100 plus shipping. He has real good feedback so his cabinets despite the low price apparently are good quality as well as being nice and compact. So for like $200 to $250 you get the cab and your choice of most speakers. I may pick one up myself.

I bought this cabinet from a guy on ebay called Colorado_Music_Guy it is a identical copy of the Mesa 1-12 Thiele cab. Made out 13 ply birch, I loaded a spare EVM12L into it, presto, chango, a cool sounding cabinet was done. I think I paid $115 for the cab, that included covering, corners, jack, and speaker wire and mounting screws. I am still looking to get more of them....

Being a 1-12 Thiele it sounds very close to a 412 in terms of thump. Small portable strong cab. IF you can think of the ebay sellers name post it so I can take a look or PM me.

I am having good luck with the Avatar 1x12. Oval port in the rear makes the bass response pretty big.

I think you're talking about SS Cabs..we have a discussion going on in another thread.

I had one of their 1x12's and basically no matter what speaker I tried I couldn't get any bottom end..they're just too small for a 12. But I do plan on getting one of their 2x12's and a 2x10 for some speakers I have laying around. Overall they are nice cabs once you replace the T-nuts and plastic jack.

You should also look at JDesign cabs. The "Vintage" 1x12 cab sounds huge.

    Kaseri,

hello from the Z forum as well!

I JUST got my new J Design 112 Vintage cab in today. I've heard nothing but great things about these cabs, and Jeff has been an amazing guy to work with. I'm picking up an Eminence Tonker for mine, which will be fed by my Dr. Z RX Es. I can't wait!

Definitely check out the J Design stuff.

The cabinet that Toneking is referring to is the Mesa Thiel ported 1x12.

It comes with a 90 watt Celestion or a 200 watt Electro-Voice (wattage approximated from foggy memory). The EV version is reputed to have half stack like tones.

I have the Celestion version and it has proven a versitile companion, well matched with everything from vintage Fenders to digital modeling amps.

Hey ! I love my JDesign 1x12 cab. I threw a Weber 50 watt, moderate dope, Silver Bell in it. Amazing tones in a small package.
