What about a great DI? Avalon U5 for example.

The PA is the best choice IME. A nice DI helps, but not as much as a talented sound engineer.

I have had many acoustic amps.
Most sounded really good. Even the cheaper Crate models.
The only one I could not get to sound good is the Fender Acoustasonic.

I have heard the Rivera Sedona is great (has tubes) but it is $2K.

I didn't like the Acustasonic either. Currently using a powered pa speaker with a LR Baggs DI box in front of it. Sounds great!

When I worked in a guitar store, I easily sold every Marshall as50 that I got in stock. Great sounding amp with every acoustic I could plug into it.

I finally took the plunge and bought a Fishman SA220. I run my acoustic through a small pedalboard, into a Kingsley Squire tube preamp, and into the SA220. Can't imagine anything getting much better really. Love it.
