Have a VVT X40 on the way. Comes with JJ ECC83's. I'm not a fan of JJ's. What's your favorite AX7 for V1 and V2 of a "D" style. I had a Zingaro before and I tried GE 12AX7WA's but they were microphonic in that circuit (tried 3 different ones). Settled on TAD 7025Ms. I have TungSols in other amps and like them a lot. Any suggestions?

    Up front!
Try an older RCA. That's what I have in all of my Fender amps although I just put a Telefunken 12AX7 in the V1 position of one of my Princeton Reverbs. What a difference!

Original Mullard longplate in V2 if you can get a good one. I also like RCA blackplates and GE longplates in V2. For V1, I like Amperex and RCA among others.

    I use a Fuchs ODS.
