Best Bass in the $300-$400 Price Range

    I ended up getting this beauty! Gonna replace the stock pickups with either EMG Geezer Butlers or Lace Nate Newton Riffblasters. I had the option of 5 different weights on the bass and went with the heaviest(good idea?) I assume more wood=more tone.

    Good tone = good tone.

    Weight = how heavy it is.

    Excellent choice, I love mine. Before changing pickups, give the stock ones a chance, they sound pretty good to me. ‍♂️

    I had EMG's in the Jazz I used to own, and they were SO awesome that at least two of my bass playing friends went out and bought them. So.... there's that.

    That's a very cool P-Bass, Slicepaper. Congrats!

    thanks, Jim! I ended up going with the the Lace Sensor Riffblasters but I’m sure the EMG’s sound excellent!

    G&L JB2 Tribute, I would rate this as one of the best values available today, Plenty of lightly used models out there in the $300 range.

    It looks like you made a nice choice.

    My recommendation would have been to check out the Sire M3. It offers tremendous bang for the buck and nails modern tones. I've been really pleased with mine and just ordered my 2nd Sire.
