With 12 watts you can go either ceramic or AlNiCo, so you have quite
a few variables or a blend if you wish.

The stock Vintage Purple, original Fanes, Weber Thames would all lean towards the classic Hiwatt tone or you can go for more jangle and chime
with a Weber Blue Dog or Celestion Blue.

Hard to say which cab configuration you'll like the best,
single 12, 2X10 or 2X12

What kind of budget do you have in mind?

Something sub-500 is about what I want to spend. 1x12 is my preffered configuration.

And between ceramic and alnico which will get me closer to that Hiwatt tone?

Sounds like a scumnico might be a good choice of speaker if you're not
going for the stock Reeves Vintage Purple.

Why not talk to Bill at Reeves and see what he recommends?
