I'm looking into kits from Ceriatone and Brown Note to build my own D style amp. $ is real tight, and I thought it would be a kick to build my own. I'm thinking 50 watt OTS or D'lite 44. I know D style amps aren't really known for their clean tones, but I'm wondering which of these amps has a better one.

    Happy Holidays.

have you ever had experience in building tube amps?
The Dumble circuits are not simple!

I never tried ceriatone & D-Lite , I think both ahave very good clean tone.

I built a Dynaco Stereo amp years ago, and have used soldering irons a lot. I think if the
instructions are real clear, I won't have a problem.

I own a BN dlite 22 and it is hands down one of the best amps I have ever played through....the clean and OD tones are spectacular!!!..never tried a Cerritone.

I think the Ceriatone sounds great too. I had Nik build mine but leave off the transformer - I used an old Triad output transformer, which I suspect helps it a bit.

They're really pretty similar. I think I'd go the Dlite route though. I have played both a Ceriatone ODS and a Dlite 44. I preferred the cleans on the Dlite as they werent as compressed IMHO and a bit more open. The overdrive, if you care, on the Dlite seemed to be more in the Marshall camp then the Ceriatone.
