Thought it was the Klon, buffers are a good thing. Hop on the wagon.

I do have both though, for some chewy dual-delay goodness.

The best delay is the one you still don't have and can't afford.

The best delay is the time spent on a wait list for a boutique pedal.

I would say that the best delay is the one that is priced in proportion to the amount that you actually use delay. In my band, I play rhythm guitar and use delay on one song. For me, this means it's kind of dumb to spend big bucks.

Last year, I spent the bucks and got a Belle Epoch. Great pedal and it actually imparts a sonic texture above and beyond just delay that's pleasing to the ear. HOWEVER, in a band setting, there was no noticeable difference between the BE and the cheaper TC Electronic Nova Repeater that I had before. Last month, I needed to free up some extra cash and went back to a TC Flashback. On the "tape" setting, it's reasonably close to the BE sound at home and no one will ever notice the difference at a show.
