best distortion......

    I am looking for a great metalish pedal for the clean channel on my rv50.. I have a jeckle and hyde ( too much tin can sounding) and a carl martin plexitone...(too mashall) i want to get a deep crunch sound any suggestions?

    I just can't see "great metalish pedal" and "Tonebone Classic" in the same sentance.

    maybe not metallish, but I heard "crunch" in spades when i tried one out

    None of the above. Best metal pedal for the money is the Hardwire TL-2. Others that cost a bit more are the MI Audio Megalith Delta, Amptweaker tight metal, and Weehbo bastard.

    The one thing I found that makes or breaks a distortion pedal for me is a mids control.
    That said, out of the 6-8 I’ve used, the Wampler Sovereign and JHS AT were very satisfying.
    I’m curious to try the current Revv pedals though.

    If you're looking for metallish, I don't think you can go wrong with the Mesa Throttle Box.

    And I'll take the flaming arrows, but the Boss Waza Metal Zone sounds pretty darn good for the heavy stuff.
