MXR 10 band EQ with the sniper mod
180$ i believe and great value

the MXR i have is unmodded but it seems to enhance my spectrum rather than kill it, it doesn't seem to kill dynamics and is also trye bypass, the EQ is VERY useable also.
I usually leave it on all the time, i A/Bed it with the amp and i sense no tone loss, seems like i'm missing something without it.

I love the MXR 10 band EQ :AOK ... it has helped me find my desired sound. Many pedalboards I see lack an EQ and to me it the most important element of my setup .. it always stays on.

I have a GE-7 Sniper and that sounds wonderful also but it lacks the higher bands 8K and 16K ... I dial out some brightness and keep the clarity with the MXR.

Its not True Bypass but I've always prefered the DOD FX40B EQ.

MXR 10 band is what I wound up with after trying the GE-7 twice and the 6 band Mxr once. I am totally happy with it and it isnt even modded.

The 6-band MXR does almost as good a job as the 10-band one plus is half the size and only $70. Can't go wrong with either :p
