What band or album do you feel started off with the biggest bang? My votes go to:

Doors - Break on Through
Led Zeppelin - Good Times, Bad Times
Oasis - Rock and Roll Star

All three of those are fantastic ways to kick off careers. Energetic songs with great riffs!

What are your votes?

Good picks!

I'll add "Dead and Bloated" on STP's "Core" for 1st song, 1st album.

"All my Life" by the Foo Fighters. Not their first album, but what a BANG!

"This Is A Call" does a great job of announcing Foo Fighters on their first album.

What, you mean post #7, or is there an even earlier reference I missed in the thread?

Maybe this is an example of the downside of the ignore list.
Foxy Lady was the first song side one on the UK version there may be some confusion. Both would work tho.

How about "Uh-oh, Love Comes to Town", from 77 by Talking Heads (ok, maybe not the best ever, but I've been on a big Talking Heads kick lately :))

How about this one from the Alabama Shakes...oh, right, the album's not out yet, it's out April 10th, but this is the lead track and it does in fact rock.
