Way way before Iver heard fo EVH or Al Dimeola I worked in a small bar cleaning up on sat's.The owners had this huge collection of recordswhich we cranked thur there P.a. ,and thats when I heard one of the best solos ever. The record is the Isley bros"Fight the Power" and the tune is "Hope you feel better Love'' guys give it a listen and Ernie Isley just tears it up.The solo or should I say solos, go on for the last half of the song and he never ever repeats himselve :aok

The Meters(w/ Leo Nocentelli) are the the backup band on that album but DS is credited with the guitar solo on RPRT.

Funny I was just starting the Maggot Brain and then I saw this thread. I'm about to get Super Stupid. I'll definitely be checking out some Isley Bros though. Gracias.

+1! Also Prince on "Get It Up" from The Time's 1st LP. Jesse Johnson on "Jungle Love" from "Ice Cream Castles". Any of the leads from any of Jesse's solo releases. Anything from Ernie Isley's 1990 solo album "High Wire". Not saying this is the best stuff but definitely some of my favorites.

I wish someone would do a proper re-release of his solo album, maybe bring in all the studio outtakes, that would be great.
