In your experience, what are the most reliable locking tuners for a stratocaster?
Interested, too (though for a Tele). My buddy swears by Kluson.
I’ve always just used the Fender (Ping, I assume) branded ones with the 2 pins.
The Fender Locking tuners are excellent and reasonably priced. I've used them on virtually every fender I've had (a dozen or more). I also just used some Schallers on a PRS SE, and they're excellent too, but pricey.
I like Hipshot
I dig Kluson Revolutions.
Sperzels have worked just fine for me over the last 20-25 years.
I've used Schaller, Gotoh and Sperzel over the years. All work as expected and have been reliable with zero issues.
Fenders locking tuners for what else but Fenders. Work well, takes about 10 minutes to install, and no drilling or other mismatched fits with pins that don’t line up right.
Kluson Revolution and Fender Vintage Locking Tuners.
For Fenders I like the Gotoh SD-91. Looks like a Kluson style tuner, but they're locking, and they're staggered so you don't need string trees.
The new Kluson Revolution are FAN-TAS-TIC !
I just bought some gold Fender locking tuners. Not too expensive and work perfectly. Plus it takes about two minutes to replace them. No annoying drilling or anything.
I have a set of Schaller locking tuners on my main Strat that have been on it for over 10 years with no problems.
I have the Ping branded Fender tuners on another guitar that have also been flawless.
I put Fenders on my Telecasters... they do what they have to do and look awesome.
The Fender-branded (Schaller), lockers work well.
I have Scallers on one of my Strats, too. They work excellently.
for me, . . the best looking, with a look of unprecedented quality are the Schallers... The GraphTech Ratios are darn nice too, and probably the smoothest I have encountered.. Sperzels are excellent too, but have a kind of a "less refined" appearance when measured against the Schallers or ratios... I rarely see anything else, so they remain unexplored territory..
Planet Waves on everything I have and work on for a long time. No wrap is good and I like the 18:1 ratio.
