I have the voxy chime locked down with a Matchless Baby. Now I'm Jonesing for some 1980's vintage Marshall mojo in a similarly small package. I was hoping the new 1W series was going to be it, but it doesn't look good. Not really interested in the Class 5. Is there anything else out there?

Isn't this the limited edition reissue? Aren't these supposed to be junk inside?

Dude.... there are only some clips up from the anniversary models and you're already biased on their quality?? And you're drooling over the Fargen? Maybe you should reconsider getting your kicks out of specifications...
To sober you up a bit: I've heard a Fargen Minplex Mk2 from a friend and it was the most horrible icepicky amp I heard in a while and a lousy mastervolume to boot. A Class5 is, even with it's own speaker, way more balanced and plenty loud without drowning every other band member out.

I did enough homework to know that I am not spending $799.00 for a 1 watt practice amp.

Why get a Marshall when you could get a boutique clone for more than double the price? Seriously though, if you want Marshall tones, just get a Marshall. They're coming out with one voiced for each era, so they'll have an 80s styled JCM if it hasn't already come out.

i think it's more geared for recording, than practice.

    otherwise, what's the point?

I must admit the 1 watt amps have my interest. I had a zvex nano head once and I really liked it, but gas had me selling it.

My wife dislikes anything over 1 watt at home, yes the 100 watters sit idle.

The mini-mat has my interest too....

Why get a Marshall when you can get a better amp for less money.

Get a Microbaby and you have a world of 1-2 watt tones at your disposal.

If your looking for the 80's JCM tone Fargen's Olde 800 may fit the bill better.

Wow, I didn't mean to start a flame war over these little Marshalls! I did do homework on them. There are some pretty long threads on this forum with pictures of the insides and a lot of negative sentiment, which was really disappointing as a 1w Marshall for under a grand would have been a no-brainer for me. Do you guys know otherwise about these?
