The new Rockett Animal Tour Series and the Friedman Dirty Shirley are tied.

I love Marshall tone, but I'm a Blackface/Silverface Fender clean amp user and I use pedals to make it sound like whatever amp I want.

I really like the JHS AT. . . as crazy as that sounds. very organic, touch responsive. Lot of tones in that box.

I have most of the pedals mentioned here, including the Gurus, and they're all great. Would really like to try the Flying Teapot 59.

WTH, that Gurus pedal is $400.

I bet it sounds awesome, but there are so many quality MIAB pedals that probably get close for less than half that. I’d have a hard time justifying it to myself. (But that’s not meant to be an insult to your taste or the pedal.)

Pete Cornish G2. It is not explicitly a Marshall in a box but thats the sound.

I just got the ST-2 and I think it has THE greatest cleanup with the volume knob that I have ever gotten out of a MIAB. It can be pretty grindy and midrangy....but when you roll down your guitar's volume knob it gets clean and sparkly.

I too recently got a Cornish G2 and the range of tones out of that box is beyond impressive.

Well my '69 small box 50 traveled south from Canada in a box, does that count? :D

Did a comparison this morning between my Xotic SL Drive, Skreddy Major Overdrive and a Fulltone Plimsoul. The XL Drive and Plimsoul were damn near evenly matched, with maybe the Plimsoul coming out just a hair ahead oddly enough. The Skreddy on its own does a good job, but it felt a little dwarfed when tested side-by-side with the others. Regardless of the outcome, the cool thing is having 3 different flavours of Marshall on hand.

I'm cheating: If the BOSS Katana amp qualifies as a box, that!

Not a very popular pedal for some reason: wampler plexi deluxe.

I did not use the ‘’screamer’ side. When used with cab sims which require a amp-in-a-box type pedals to use as ’fake pre-amp’, the wampler plexi deluxe excelled - in its non-tube, solid state capacity.

    This.

I'm surprised the La Grange doesn't get mentioned a lot around here. It's really THAT good.
