Best marshall Plexi tones. Barber Small Fry or V-Stack Classic.
the small fry is definitely not a marshall style pedal
may i recommend the cmatmods brownie?
pm fr8_trane for the specs on his. . .but it is, hands-down, my favorite marshinalbox i've ever heard . . . and i've heard a LOT of 'em. . .
Carl Martin Plexitone - the name says it all...
zvex box of rock.
If you're looking for a Barber pedal to do Marshall stuff, the Direct Drive would be a good candidate.
I've been diggin the Plextortion lately. with a little knob tweaking can go from 60's to 80's Marshall tones.
Brian Wampler (Indyguitarist/Wampler Effects) makes great Marshall type OD's and Distortions.
I love my plexidrive, which hit this tone spot on with the gain only at 10 o'clock. check it out
Barber Direct Drive is much more "Marshally" than the Small Fry, and one of the best, tightest & most defined Marshall pedals on the planet.
Original Sansamp or GT3-both do it great but the original is quieter and has way more flexibility...
Small Fry is a great pedal, but as noted above, for Marshall tones, you probably want the Direct Drive instead.
+1 on the Direct Drive.
