Looking for a mini amp (10w or less) that i can open wide up, get a great dirty recording sound and use live and not be so loud that my stage volume becomes and issue and the sound guy wants me to turn down. I don't really care about the clean channel, unless i'm just using at home for practice. I want to record with it and put it on stage for a few songs that i really want that dirty, gritty sound for slide. I have been listening to the H&K 5w, Vox AC4, different fenders, and a Mini Z on youtube to hopefully find what i'm looking for. Shoot me some amps to look at.

    thanks!

I used to use an egnater rebel 20 for this exact purpose. Turn the watts all the way down (1 W), gain all the way up, and set the volume to what you need for recording. Pretty good dirty tones at very reasonable volume, but can also get loud enough for playing with a band if you turn the watts knob back to max (20 W)
